Kindergarten and 3rd graders!

Today was first day of school. It was a special one this year - Maddie Mae's first day of Kindergarten!

I went in to wake her up this morning and she pulled the covers up over her head and told me, "I am just going to sleep in today, okay Mom?" Haha! Way to start off the next 13+ years of school!

After I reminded her that school started today she was excited and ready to start. Such a cute little girl. She has grown up so incredibly fast. I am going to miss my little helper around here. She really was a fun kid to have around.

Love these two kids! Hope they have a great school year in 3rd and Kindergarten!

4 Generations - Post 2

And after 10 years of marriage, 4 kids, 3 college degrees...we have matured and are real adults.

4 Generations - Post 1

This post will be mostly pictures. Not much to say about the beach - I mean you sleep, swim, play, dig, eat and enjoy family. This is the forth generation to enjoy the beach house on Emerald Isle - so fun!

A few things stand out, but of course I didn't take the camera - we went to Beaufort to get fudge! Morehead to eat at Sanitary Seafoood (Topher ate a fried soft shell crab - look it up if you don't know what it looks like and you'll gain respect for the boy and Tyler ate a raw oyster). We went to the aquarium near the end of the day so we enjoyed a lot of the museum by ourselves - a lot of fun. August liked all the "ish." We went put-put golfing! Tyler won, Katie Jo lost. Maddie Mae got 3 hole-in-ones! We played games. We fished. We swam. The girls "mothered" little Naomi to death! We picked up shells. We boogie-boarded. We kayaked. Most of all we spent time with family making memories that all of us, hopefully including Caroline, enjoyed!

It was a lot of fun to have Drew and Lisa there with us. It is a little different then when we were kids since Drew and I had to keep track of little ones. But I am so glad that we were able to go with the kids, my parents and my siblings. What a fun way to end our summer!
