Five months ago when Tyler and I were faced with deciding to go to PA or UT for a job we made a pro/con list. In the pro column was listed seeing family more often - both his and mine. Little did we know that in the first five months of living here we would see most all the Barnes kids.
Mom is not a kid, but we were happy to see her early this spring right when we moved in (in fact the day my boxes arrived).
Drew moved in June and became the "creepy uncle who lives in the basement."
Lori flew in and stopped by for a few days on her way to BYU.
Katie Jo spent three weeks out here in July.
It was a fun summer.
Lisa...your turn?
Katie Jo gets here. Kids were happy to see her.
No rest for the weary - Katie went swimming right away. Drew went to work.
Katie had never been to a zoo. We fixed that.
Topher's favorite - Rocky Shores polar bear.
I like the cats. Pretty animals.
We enjoyed an amusing interchange between a gorilla and an escaped peacock. The gorilla was curious, the peacock kept trying to hide.
Maddie Mae loves these small little monkeys. She kept asking to hold one.
Topher likes the bugs.
And Caroline likes her naps. She is my smart kid.
We enjoyed evenings without the older two kids. I love my 6 month-olds. It is such a fun and sweet age.
The Sunday before Katie and Drew left planned to eat lunch out in the canyons but found out that to picnic in Cottonwood Canyon cost $10 for a few hours/per car. So, we took a walk (for free) and went home and ate dinner.
Maddie Mae went through her extra outfit within the first five minutes. Bet you can't guess why!
Drew needs to explain to Topher what happens when little boys and rocks are put together.
New outfit Maddie Mae (from the waste down).
I told both kids not to get wet. But they "slipped" and fell.
Lisa - Maddie Mae just got in my lap and was looking at the pictures. She asked where Papa, Mimi, and Lisa is.
And, because Maddie Mae is in my lap the rest of Katie's visit will have to wait until next post. Hopefully later today.
